Awarded five AA stars, proprietor Imelda Sheedy-King welcomes you to Flemingstown, a quiet countryside retreat which is a world away from the hustle and bustle of everyday living. The rooms are beautifully furnished and have exceptionally comfortable large beds. Flemingstown is central for touring Limerick, Cork, Kerry, Clare and Tipperary and of course the many excellent golf course which are within easy reach.
Flemingstown House is renowned for the quality of the tempting meals provided having won a breakfast award and many other "Good Food" recognition awards.

IRISH GUESTHOUSE OF THE YEAR Flemingstown House, Kilmallock, Co Limerick
The location: in the heart of the rural southwest. Kilmallock, one of Ireland’s most important medieval towns, is three miles up the road, and the delightful coast is within day-tripping distance.
The rooms: obviously, Imelda isn’t running a hotel like Hope Street, so don’t expect DVD players, but in every other respect the rooms are excellent. Mine was a good size, spotless, and home to a large, firm bed and a powerful shower. 9/10
The decor: the house is decked out in solid, respectable style, with some beautifully kept antique pieces. 8/10
The food: both dinner and breakfast were highlights of the stay. Dinner was five courses: pâté, a home-made cucumber soup, chicken, an exquisite rhubarb tart and Imelda’s sister’s own cheddar cheese. The quality, balance and measured pace were remarkable, given that it had all been produced by Imelda herself in the farmhouse kitchen. 9/10
The service: there’s plenty of chance to chat, but at all the right moments you are left in peace. 9/10
Value for money: 10/10
Does it deserve its César? It deserves two: one for the house and one for Imelda’s energy and attention to detail.
